The board is responsible for Center policy and fiscal decisions of the Senior Center Board account. The monthly meeting is on the first Friday of the month at 9:30 a.m. Meetings are open to the public.

55+ Wellness Programs

Fit & Foxy Exercise

Join Leora and the gang for a great start to your day on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 a.m. No Fee – T-shirt purchase optional.

Dancing Grand Dandies

We learn, we practice, and we perform. If you have an interest in line dancing, join Mary Burger and the other active retirees as we enjoy the exercise and socialization of practice and performing. We dance throughout the county and the Des Moines Metro Area. Dancers meet Tuesdays at 8:45 a.m. at the Senior Center and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. in the City Hall Community Room. No Fee – T-shirt purchase required if performing.

Senior Transportation

Warren County Transportation Service is available to all citizens of Warren County with preference given to elderly, handicapped and transportation disadvantaged. For a ride call 961-2543.

Monday-Friday – Congregate Meals

     Pickup 10:30 am-Return 12:30 pm

Monday-Friday -- In Indianola

     7:30 am-4:00 pm

Every Other Thursday – To Des Moines

    8:30 am-2:00 pm

Congregate Meals

HEY 60+ SENIORS!! Join your peers for entertainment, socializing, laughter and a good hot balanced meal. This is for all income levels. So come join the crowd for some fun, food and fellowship.

Good Samaritan Center and Westview Care Center Need Volunteers

The Indianola Good Samaritan Center and Westview Care Center would greatly appreciate volunteers to read, visit, and spend some quality time with residents. If you would be interested in sharing your time and talents, please call Wendy at 962-2546 at Good Samaritan or Lori at 961-3189 at Westview.

Upcoming Programs & Activities

Monthly Potlucks

On the second Friday of each month anyone 55+ is invited to bring a dish to share and join the fellowship at the Center. Usually the meal is followed by entertainment and occasionally Leora will bring in a speaker to share some important information with us.

A special feature of the potluck days is the Brenton Bank Utility Assistance Drawing. Purchase a ticket for $1.00 to be in the drawing. The winner gets $37.50 and so does the Center to assist with the monthly utilities.

Quilting

Wednesdays, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Starting Wednesday, November 1, Quilting is offered every other week!  Cost is just the cost of your own supplies.

Pitch Card Game

Every Afternoon from 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Drop in for a fun game of pitch with a lively group of players.

Birthday Party Celebrations

Don’t forget to come celebrate your birthday with us. Birthday Parties are celebrated on the third Friday of the month after Bingo (around 3:00 p.m.) Cake and ice cream are provided by Peoples Savings Bank. Let us know your birthday so we can get it on our calendar.

Makeover Marathon at Iowa School of Beauty

Live in Concert at the Val Air Ballroom
