Pickard Park Master Development Plan

In 1997 the City of Indianola Parks and Recreation Department had a Master Development Plan completed for Pickard Park, which was approved by the City council. Community input was received from several workshops to develop this plan which will allow the park to be more fully utilized without altering its open, informal character. Development was put into four priority stages with completion depending on funding availability. Development will be funded using a combination of grants, private moneys, special interest donations, partnering with other government agencies, small bond issues and improvement levies, and with capital improvement budgeting. Any person or group interested in helping with any parts of the Pickard Park development are encouraged to contact any of the Indianola Parks and Recreation Commission members. Tax deductible gifts and contributions through the private, nonprofit Indianola Community Parks and Recreation Foundation, Inc. are an option for those interested in helping develop the park.
