Important Notice Regarding City Utility Bills
Beginning with city
bills issued January 1, 2010, customers will no longer receive a postcard style
bill but rather a full-page statement billing enclosed in an envelope.
Please Do Not Disregard The City Of
Indianola Envelope That You Receive On January 1st
The idea of using a full-page bill vs. a
postcard has been investigated many times over the years. The number of lines on
the postcard is very limited, and adding new lines is no longer possible as the
number of billed services has reached its limit. A benefit of a full-page bill
is that additional customer-specific and community information can also be
placed in the same envelope with no additional postage.
Payment options will remain the
same. Customers may mail bill stubs in to the city clerk’s office, deposit them
in one of two drop boxes located at city hall, authorize an automatic withdrawal
from a bank account, submit payment on-line (residential only) or pay by Master
Card or Visa at the payment counter at city hall.
DART RideShare assists commuters
in organizing groups, providing vans, and maintaining the vanpool. Vanpooling
offers a convenient, reliable, economical and less stressful alternative to
driving alone to work.
RideShares help to reduce traffic
delays and congestion, as well as, help keep the air clean and reduce pollution
in the environment.
RideShare has eight vanpools that
originate from Indianola each morning, Monday through Friday. Commuters save
thousands of dollars a year by vanpooling. They cut their gasoline, insurance,
parking and maintenance costs by more than half.
Each vanpool can accommodate one
volunteer driver and up to 14 passengers. Each passenger pays one low monthly
fare based on van purchases, mileage, gasoline and maintenance expenses.
For additional information or to register for
service please visit DART’s website at
ridedart.com or call 288-RIDE (7433).
City ordinance 1015 prohibits parking
on any public street or alley during a snow emergency parking ban.
Such ban is in effect when two or more inches of snow or
ice has fallen or is predicted by the National Weather Service. Ban
shall continue for the duration of the storm and for forty-eight hours past
the end of the storm unless streets are fully opened after plowing.
If your vehicle is in violation of the snow emergency
parking ban, you will be subject to a $35.00 parking ticket and/or your
vehicle may be towed at your expense.
Please take special note of this ordinance and plan
accordingly.
Thank you for your cooperation.
