New City Activity Center Renovation Project
Address: 2204 West 2nd, Avenue (Hwy 92)
Current American Salon Circulation
This building has been purchased by the city for an activity center. It will be the new location for the Indianola Parks and Recreation offices and senior citizens and will provide space for small and large group gatherings, reunions, receptions, meetings and parties. There will also be space for computer classes, arts and crafts, and intergenerational and youth activities. The building has 10,300 sq. ft., will have a kitchen, and will be an excellent addition to the city facilities to help meet current and future community needs. Fundraising is needed for additional parking and to renovate the building to better provide for the new uses and to comply with the ADA requirements. A fundraising effort is being organized for this spring which will include fundraising events, memorial brick sales, room sponsorships and a formal fund drive. Estimated renovation cost is $175,000. We hope to have an open house prior to Christmas 2000. Call 961-9420 for additional information.
