Keep Your Sidewalks Clear

For the safety of pedestrians, city ordinance requires property owners to clear their side-walks of snow and ice in a timely manner. Failure to comply with this ordinance may result in a fine, court costs and reimbursement to the city of costs associated with removal.

Polar Walk and Choc:

On Saturday, February 2, 2008, the first annual Polar Walk and Choc will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Uncommon Grounds on The Square in Indianola. Walk from Uncommon Grounds to the McVay & Summerset Trail Head and back. There is no fee or registration, and the walk will be held regardless of weather. All finishers will receive a coupon for a free hot chocolate from Uncommon Grounds. Call Indianola Parks & Recreation at (515) 961-9420 for more information. Sponsored by Anytime Fitness. This event is part of Winter Wellness Week, which is being promoted across the state by the Iowa Parks & Recreation Association and Lighten Up Iowa in an effort to generate health and wellness. Sunday Afternoon Table Tennis

The Indianola Activity Center will be open for table tennis playing from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the following Sundays: January 27, February 10, 17 and 24. Up to five tables will be available, as well as balls and paddles, or participants may also bring their own equipment. Kindergarteners through adults pay $2 per person at the door. Children in Kindergarten through 4th grade must be accompanied by an adult. The Activity Center is located at 2204 W. 2nd Avenue. Call (515) 961-9420 with questions.
