IFD Open House

The Indianola Fire Department holds an OPEN HOUSE every year during Fire Safety week. At the Open House, you can find many educational, informative, and entertaining festivities. Here is just a short list of the fun things there are to do at an IFD Open House.

• Eat! - Along with donations from community businesses, the Indianola Firefighters Association purchases tasty treats for the (sometimes) hundreds of attendees.
• Learn about FIRE SAFETY - Demonstrations and many learning exercises help teach children about fire safety.
• Learn about Personal Safety - IFD personnel on staff help teach kids how to "stay safe" in everything they do.
• See Firefighting technology - IFD Firefighters tell about the newest life saving technology. Ask questions, feel the equipment, see what it's like to be a firefighter!
