Older Adult Activity Coordinator

OLDER ADULT ACTIVITY COORDINATOR
(Part – time)
Definition:
Provides a variety of recreation activities, classes and events for Indianola area active older adults. Establishes personal relationships and friendships with adult participants, promotes and outreaches in the Indianola Community.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plans, organizes, promotes and administers a variety of monthly programs and services including recreation, health and wellness, music, dance and social classes, information, programs, seminars, trips, special events, etc.
• Establishes and maintains a harmonious relationship between the parks and recreation department and the Indianola Area Senior Center Board of Directors and obtains older adult program ideas from them.
• Participates in department operation activities as a member of the Parks & Recreation Department Service Team.
• Keeps accurate records for activities, volunteers, participation and other information as required.
• Interacts with and establishes personal relationships with the active older adults. Promotes interaction among active older adults.
• Establishes a warm friendly inviting environment at the center.
• Encourages participation and volunteer involvement.
• Establishes a network of volunteers.
• When available, occasionally assists others with room set up & take down.
• Performs related work as required.
