PUBLIC NOTICE

City ordinance 1015 prohibits parking on any public street or alley during a snow emergency parking ban. Such ban is in effect when two or more inches of snow or ice has fallen or is predicted by the National Weather Service. Ban shall continue for the duration of the storm and for forty-eight hours past the end of the storm unless streets are fully opened after plowing.

If your vehicle is in violation of the snow emergency parking ban, you will be subject to a $35.00 parking ticket and/or your vehicle may be towed at your expense.

Snow emergency parking ban will be posted on cable channel 7,
the city web site: www.cityofindianola.com or can be confirmed
by contacting the Indianola Police Department.

Please take special note of this ordinance and plan accordingly.

Indianola Parks and Recreation offers Service Project Ideas

Groups looking for a service project are invited to contact Indianola Parks and Recreation for ideas. The city department has identified several one-time outdoor volunteer projects that can be done during the spring, summer, or fall in as little as 1-4 hours depending on the size of the group. Projects vary from planting flowers, mulching and weed whipping, to waxing the Aquatic Center water slide or painting park shelters.

Volunteers will be recognized in Parks and Recreation publications and on its website. Call 961-9420 or email parkrec@cityofindianola.com for more details or to set up a date.

City of Indianola Public Library Employment Opportunity

Adult and Teen Services Librarian

Applications are being accepted until November 9, 2006. Responsibilities include developing library programs for patrons from ninth grade through adult, answering reference questions, reading promotion, and collection management.
Requirements include diploma from accredited 4-year college, with preference given to those with previous library experience and/or experience working with targeted age groups.

Salary: $29,649 - 31,666 DOQ
